2023 Mitigation Status Update

-
Currently doing a complete rewrite of our Emergency Operations Plan with local, state, and community partners. Tabletop exercise coming winter 2024!
-
A thorough After Action Report was completed for the COVID-19 Pandemic with all of our response and recovery partners. Identified improvement items are currently being implemented into planning efforts.

Talbot County County Council publicly recognized April as Flood Awareness Month and September as National Preparedness Month. Both were great opportunities for Talbot County Planning and Zoning and Emergency Services to provide the public with information on flood insurance, flood mitigation measure, and hazard education and preparedness for our communities.
-
Multiple municipalities are pursuing federal mitigation funding to support homeowners with property mitigation projects, study and engineering design for public flood mitigation projects, and hazard studies to determine the future needs of our communities.
